March 19, 2010 - You Play Bouree?
You’ve played bourre’, right? Maybe not since you travelled north of Shreveport, but surely when you were in Cajun Country you played bourre’. When I learned how to play, I quickly found that joining a bourre’ game can be mighty fun. But to get in on the fun, you’ve gotta ante up each hand. (Yankees who don’t get the bourre example know the same holds true in poker.)
Well, a new year is underway. In the months ahead we got more bon temps for you than a Mardi Gras float can haul. Our annual Crawfish Boil and a zydeco party (May), the College World Series in Omaha (June), “LSU Tiger Night” at a T-Bones game (July) and the 2nd annual SEC Bash (August), just to name a few. But you need to ante up to get in on all the fun. Your 2010 dues are due.
Membership in the Kansas City chapter of the LSU Alumni Association is open to all alumni and fans of LSU who live in Missouri and Kansas. Membership in the KC chapter is separate from membership in the national LSU Alumni Association. You can join either, but we hope you’ll consider joining both, and we have taken two steps to make it easier for you. Une, 2010 dues have once again been frozen at just $25 for full membership in the Kansas City chapter. And deux, for those who are considering membership in either the regional chapter or the national organization or both, we have arranged a really special deal. KC chapter dues are $25 and national dues are $50. When you join the KC chapter and let us know you’d like the LSU lagniappe, we will see that you are enrolled in both for a total of just $40.
Talk about easy, you can just click on the Membership tab on this website to complete the brief application. You can even pay on-line. If you’d rather pay by check, you can do that, as well, by printing the application, completing it and mailing it with your check to:
